Certaldo is a nice and tiny medieval town with 16.000 inhabitants situated in the heart of Valdelsa in Florence district.
Born place of Giovanni Boccaccio and full of historical features.
The Certaldo county is crossed by the Elsa river and is composed by two separated centres: the medieval part (generally called Certaldo Alto) stands up on the hill and can be reached with a panoramic cableway, on the level plane you have the "modern town" of Certaldo with shops and all kind of facilities.
